David Goel, BA


David E. Goel is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Matrix Capital Management and AyurMaya Private Equity Fund. Prior to forming Matrix in 1999, he was a Member and Technology Research Analyst at Tiger Management, an Associate at General Atlantic Partners, and an Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley. He is currently a member of the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows, the Board of Trustees of the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University, the Harvard Quantum Initiative Founders Group, the Harvard Corporation Committee on Finance, the Advisory Council of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, and the Board of Trustees of The Winsor School in Boston, MA. He also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of biotechnology and healthcare companies nference, Anumana, Pramana, AltPep, and Bento Dental. Mr. Goel attended Phillips Exeter Academy before graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. from Harvard University. One of the healthcare and biotechnology field’s most successful investors, Mr. Goel and his companies are at the vanguard of biotechnology, supporting innovations in artificial intelligence and computational neural networks, stem cell therapies, the structuring and application of large data sets, precision medicine, and smart drug design. Together with his wife Stacey Goel, Mr. Goel has focused his recent philanthropic efforts on supporting the arts, and, in this time of pandemic, supporting Filipino and Filipino-American nurses, with a particular emphasis upon mental health support, building resilience, and empowering Filipino and Filipino-American nurse leaders.
