Geraldine Francisco is a Sr. Diabetes Clinical Science Liaison for AstraZeneca. She is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Diabetes Educator. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, she served as a nurse practitioner for WellStar Endocrinology in Georgia where she treated patients with diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders and other endocrine conditions. While working as a NP, Geraldine also served as preceptor to NP students.
As Diabetes Educator, she worked at WellStar in Georgia and Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida where she helped both adult and pediatric patients with diabetes. She was involved in the implementation of numerous diabetes management standards for inpatient and outpatient settings, including Hypoglycemia, DKA and Basal Bolus protocols in these hospitals.
Geraldine completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Geraldine started her nursing career in the Philippines. Prior to moving to the United States in 2003, Geraldine worked as a Certified Diabetes Educator at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. Outside of work, Geraldine enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children travelling, gardening, cooking and watching movies. She is a resident of the city of Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
